My Life is Not Aesthetic…And That’s Okay

I was scrolling on social media, calling myself unwinding.

I was looking at all of the perfectly curated pictures of well-dressed influencers in their beautifully decorated homes, their perfectly styled offices, with their perfect pictures of everything perfectly perfect.

Then, the obvious dawned on me.

My life is not aesthetic.

Then, I immediately thought:

That’s okay.

My life is not aesthetic….and that’s okay.

My home is lived in.  I don’t engage in makeup artistry just to run to the grocery store.  My trip to the coffee shop is not as interesting as these influencers’ grandiose coffee runs.  And to be honest, their trips to the coffee shop aren’t that interesting either.

Perhaps it is their enthusiasm behind their narrative that makes their mundane errands seem more interesting when they do them.  Maybe attitude is truly everything.  Spoiler alert…it’s most likely their production team and cinematic photography.

What I do know is this:

My life may not be curated for Instagram, but it is perfectly curated for me.

And in this stage of my life, that is enough.
